Layouts for Brightknife

I'm working hard on the layouts for Brightknife. This template has a lot of white space, which my instincts rail against. However, white space makes for much easier reading. I'm also trying to lock all of the text to a baseline grid, which is a colossal headache! I've spent hours on this spread and nothing feels spaced right. I'm not sure this is the method for me. I end up manually touching every paragraph and sentence anyway, so spending all the extra extra time trying (and failing) to get Affinity Publisher to do what I want doesn't seem worthwhile.

I've tried out four seperate options for the page footer and nothing quite works. This version--if I continued it across the page and changed the color--might suit. I like the idea of color coding sections of the book for reasy indexing.

What does feel right, however, is the fantastic art from Carlos Andrés. He's working on the cover right now and I'm very excited for that!
